Christmas Chimes

I want to dress you up this Christmas. I want to wrap you up all warm, and never let you go, and walk out in the snow- So darling, let's go I want to take you out this Christmas, in some cafe, where frost lines every ledge of every old window, and candles all are a-glow. So darling, when can we go? Two mitten gloves, two turtle doves upon each shoulder of your coat. The warmest warmth inside your scarf across your heart, across your throat. I do adore you, and I can't ignore that at this Christmastime this is what I want... The darkest night can seem so bright, just because it's this time of year. A heart of coal, a hard, cold soul can lighten, just knowing it's near- the time undoing the days once ruined and replacing them with happiness. So dear, let's enjoy this time together, and try and make it last forevermore, that's all that I require- you're all that I desire, so let us go.

There is nothing dear that I have to fear tf I can't afford the ring. Santa Claus is kind and I'm sure he'll find gust a plain gold band to bring. It's been just a year since I met you, dear, but it seems just like a day. If I only could, oh my dear, I would turn December into May. Christmas time means happy chimes for you and me, sweetheart. Winter time means you'll be mine and never more to part. Honeymoon can't shine too soon- I wish it were today. Darling mine, don't Christmas time seem years and years away?

Once in Royal David's City stood a lowly cattle-shed where a mother laid her baby in a manger for his bed. Mary was that mother mild, Jesus Christ her little child. And our eyes at last shall see Him through His own redeeming love, for that Child so dear and gentle is our Lord in heav'n above, and He leads His children on to the place where He is gone.

Once in a while, you may think you see better than the others Scrambling around in the dark with your drum There is a time when young men must grow up and be brothers Are you afraid of growing too fast? And the child with the star on his head All of the world rests on his shoulders And the mother with the child on her breast Blessed is she among women And the trust we put in things In small ideas, in engineering The world of sports and second best In consequences we will not put to rest Why crawl around in the snow When you know I am right here Waiting for you to expect something more? For I am warm, I am calling you close to my table Where I have made us a feast For the year of troubles, they have gone The winter brings a Christmas song And the child with the star on his head All of the world rests on his shoulders And the mother with the child on her breast Blessed is she among women Does all the world know better than When Christmas comes the troubles end The troubles end, the troubles end And by the time there’s nothing left An empty tree, a winter vest A winter vest, a winter vest And all the trust we put in things In dictionaries, in engineering In calendars, and television In father's friends, in consequences

Jolly Old Saint Nicholas, Lean your ear this way; Don't you tell a single soul What I'm going to say, Christmas Eve is coming soon; Now my dear old man, Whisper what you'll bring to me; Tell me if you can. When the clock is striking twelve, When I'm fast asleep, Down the chimney broad and black With your pack you'll creep; All the stockings you will find Hanging in a row; Mine will be the shortest one; You'll be sure to know. Johnny wants a pair of skates; Susy wants a dolly Nellie wants a story book, She thinks dolls are folly As for me, my little brain Isn't very bright; Choose for me, dear Santa Claus, What you think is right.
